About Rocky Mountain Youth Center for Concussion

Child Concussion Experts in Denver

HealthONE's Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children's Center for Concussion (C4C) is part of the Rocky Mountain Youth Sports Medicine Institute. Our sports medicine specialists believe concussion is best managed by a multi-disciplinary team that includes the child, family, various members of the school teams and the medical team. The unique perspective from each of these individuals is essential in managing the concussion-related signs and symptoms.

Managing Concussions in Youth Athletes

When a child with a concussion seen at any HealthONE Emergency Department (Presbyterian/St. Luke's Medical Center, North Suburban Medical Center, Rose Medical Center, The Medical Center of Aurora, Sky Ridge Medical Center or Swedish Medical Center), a concussion management program is set in motion through our Emergency Department REAP program. After leaving the emergency room, schools and the child's primary care physician are quickly notified of the child's concussion, so education and collaboration can begin immediately.

Even if a child hasn't been seen at a Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children Emergency Department, any child suspected of having a concussion can still be seen at the Center for Concussion, so the same comprehensive program can be put in place. We see patients ages 5-20.
